TRUTH SERUM

Pearl of the Year: Awaken and Ground

"In truth there is love" by Elvira Amrhein
The dawn of a New Year brings us all to our deepest truth and has me thinking of this pearl by Brooks Atkinson, “drop the last year into the silent limbo of the past.  Let it go, for it was imperfect, and thank God that it can go.”

As we spent the last months of 2010 reviewing and clearing through our cobwebs and peering into our heart of hearts and seeing what we did right, wrong and what we can do and be in the year to come, you may have felt heavy, sad or down.

The birthing of a New year is magical as the future winds forward and becomes the present.

Think of a New Year like entering a store with a shopping cart, if you brought a shopping list, you're ahead of the game.  Your cart is empty but your mind is swirling with all the things you want to fill it with. Before you head to the store you may clear out your kitchen and spot check the items you need.

Picture the supermarket aisles as representing a different part of your life, like so:
Aisle #1 – the self, Aisle #2 – the family, Aisle #3 – relationships, Aisle #4 – community, Aisle #5 - work/career, Aisle #6 - other.

As you turn through the supermarket aisles and peruse all the items, people, activities, you may want to check the expiration dates. For the fresh items, sort the myriad ways they will enhance your life. Leave all others.

I love the fresh feeling of adventure of filling an empty cart much like GK Chesterson’s pearl, "the object of a new year is not that we should have a new year. It's that we should have a new soul."  I'd tweak this to say that it's a new opportunity for your soul to thrive.

Before you leave, take another look at the items in your shopping cart and even the store itself and decide what makes sense for you in the New Year. Perhaps this year you will engage in conversation with the checkout person rather than just watching them swipe your articles and credit card and maybe this year you'll remember to bring your own shopping bags.

Maybe you’ll open yourself more in some areas and close down others where you are leaking energy.

I was at a wonderful year end meditation with Pauline Esposito setting the overtone for the energies of 2011. She noted that this year, truth will be revealed. Truth will pierce all of our veils and hearts so that we can fully live and manifest our truth. What a truly beautiful vision to hold for 2011.

However, at a few recent events I was asked to introduce myself and say a bit of who I am.  One instance, I had 8 seconds to do this, the other a few minutes. How do I possibly nutshell myself and all my truth in 8 seconds? I'm always taken back by this even though I know to just answer the question in terms of what I do  - lawyer, writer, radio show hostess, etc.

What are your buzz words?

Be honest. This year your descriptors will ring true so choose them wisely. If they are not bringing you closer to your truth or to love, place them back on the aisle or give them to the store manager to return to source!

May you and your families live your highest truth this year and love every moment!! :)
