Pearl of the Post: Measurable Present
My son asked, "Mom, why do we have time?"
What a pearl of a question. Time's been on my mind lately as I count down to the big 4-0.
What a pearl of a question. Time's been on my mind lately as I count down to the big 4-0.
It took me a few moments before my elder chief alter ego responded:
"Time
is a measurement. You
see son, back in the day, we relied on the passing of the sun and stars to mark
what we
could accomplish in a day and the turn of the seasons to signal when to
harvest our crops and plant the seeds so our people could survive."
I launched straight into a creation and astrology lecture, kinda astounded I remembered it at all.
My son stared through me. I thought further.
Has time changed?

We spend it, waste it but to sustain it, the four basics remain - food, air, water and shelter. In our polluted GMO world, we must take tender care all the time.
To enjoy our time here we fill it with action.
Time in modern family thought form be like:
How long will it take for us to get out the door before I lose my patience.
How much more school instruction must he endure before recess.
The endless wait until the next cousin play date.
How many years until our babies go off to sleep away camp or college.
How many minutes does my commute shave off family time.
How many days till Christmas, anniversaries, retirement, the next election...
I officially common cored my time answer. My how times have changed.
We have very fancy ways of telling time across multiple time zones down to the nano second of our scheduled lives.

What makes a moment in time?
Every feeling and experience are all right there waiting to take form. Through all the stuff we do, daily, seasonally and yearly, what are the qualities that register within?
You can choose what to bring forth into the moment.
Which thought, feeling and experience will you select? Do you appreciate the beautiful challenges of parenting?
A tree can be an obstacle, future paper or appreciated for its beauty, resilience, shade and fruit.

Fall Love |
Many moms get lost in the moment without truly experiencing it.
Peace of mind is a luxury.
The world is at our feet, yet it's the smaller moments to connect within that perhaps are the most crucial to our children's long term success and our parental sanity.
Circumstances are external, while our true home is internal.
I often ask my children when do they feel the most joy, loved, happy and peaceful and what times do they feel negative, angry and sad.
Around my birthday, I see through each life phase to recognize patterns and clear the pathway to a bright version of my future self.

Funny how the entire timeline of this lifetime is available in a memory.
I
rely on my i-phone to track my time. It's measured by the actual time,
the number of my posts, likes, emails and social media responses and my
calendar reminding me where to be, what I forgot about and when to begin
racing the school bus home.
I’ve all but forgotten the beauty of wearing a fancy time piece as mine are buried beneath my macaroni necklaces.
Enter Fendi.

Weighed how much time and energy it would take to organize against the rewards of sharing rare special MomTime with my girls, I said "sure!"
During our sneak peak, James, the Fendi guy, treated us to a wonderful lunch at Sarabeth's and we touched and felt all the new timepieces, including the fun and fab MY WAY line of watches that come in red, black, white and naturally Fendi yellow.
Simple colored leather bands with a beautiful face, turn into a charming and whimsical statement with a detachable fox fur glammy. The glammy makes it fun and frisky but the watches stand fabulously on their own. Fur puts many mommas off and turns others on, so you can have this watch your way.
The pearl in their chosen name "MY WAY" is a reminder to have your way with time.
My favorite among the new Fendi timepieces was the Crazy Carat watch (right). The stones surrounding its beautiful face rotate to rainbow, blue, white and pink, depending upon my mood.
One wind and it's time for a mood change.
One breath and your thoughts are clear for your next moment. One tick of the clock and a new family memory is made and poof you're 40.
The time is now, have it your way, before the hourglass runs out.
Please drop me a note to share your time pearls!!
